Wanda Ariana Matulionis (1982, Adrogué, Argentina)

He has been painting since 2015, although he began at the age of 7 in a drawing and painting workshop. Years later he ventured into ceramics and pottery, until in 2015 he found his direction in abstract painting, which is what he is currently dedicated to. He defines himself as self-taught with years of training in workshops and hours of experimental internal work. From 2015 to 2019 he trained with Graciela Lettieri, took drawing and painting classes with Jorge Aranda and participated in experimentation workshops. In 2021 she held workshops with Rebeca Mendoza, with whom she is currently doing a construction clinic. At this time, she is also holding ceramic and pottery workshops. Your search is permanent.

With his works, he participated in numerous group and individual exhibitions and art fairs in Argentina, Spain, France and the United States. His works are part of private collections in Argentina, Spain, France, Uruguay and the United States.

Art is my way of life. My work is composed of organic stains, without structures, where emotions guide my work. I free myself, I surrender and I let myself be surprised by what happens in each creative act. I make abstract works and organize my work based on series, where each line of action has its own imprint, its own energy. My creations are a reflection of me. There, day and night, yin and yang, opposite but complementary elements, coexist. For this reason, I create works with a lot of force, brush strokes, textures, vibrant colors, and at the same time, others that simply transmit calm, introspection, where I hardly use color and the brush stroke is much softer. When I paint I am spontaneous, I make many sketches and work on different series at the same time, since even in their differences, all my works feed off each other and are intertwined with each other.

They are links in a chain that make up a living whole in constant change and transformation. I work quickly because ideas develop within me a long time before. I use materials such as acrylic, which is present in all my works, oil pastels and I create textures through collages. It gives me great pleasure to find myself with a blank canvas or sheet. In that void I find a sea of possibilities and I immerse myself in it to create. I am surprised by the unexpected and finding beauty in something that has no explanation.

My goal is to leave a legacy in those who encounter my work. Show that you can always choose, that there are works for every moment, for every context and stage of life, that there are no limits and you can always continue creating and experimenting at a steady pace. Art transcends, is maintained and makes us remember. Therefore, my inspiration is to let my emotion free.
